SkyHop – 3D Parkour Adventure is a 3D parkour game that leads players to islands floating in the sky where each step is a missed jump. The mission sounds simple: move across platforms, collect coins and stars, overcome obstacles and reach the flag at the end of level. But the distance between islands, and the traps along the way, make timing a key factor.
Double jump mechanism is one of the nice things about SkyHop. You can use a conventional leap to cross gaps nearby, but you can use double jump to climb platforms in more difficult situations. You can't continually leap over to get through the level. Players must watch their landing spot, calculate the distance and determine when to use the second jump.
There are also several barriers on the upper islands. Damage traps, enemies, and narrow paths force you to constantly change direction. A hasty move can cause your character to fall off the island and have to retake the section you just completed.
Running straight to the finish line isn't the only goal. Along the way, you can collect coins and stars, providing more reasons to explore each area instead of just finding the shortest route.
Each level can be scored up to 3 stars. Therefore, players can choose to complete it safely first, then return to optimize their path and collect more items to improve their score.
SkyHop has three notable power-ups: Super Jump, Speed Boost, and Shield. Super Jump helps with great distances, Speed Boost boosts the speed of movement and Shield provides extra security against harmful situations.
Checkpoints also play an important role. Instead of having to replay the entire level after a mistake, players can continue from the point where the checkpoint was triggered.
On PC, WASD or arrow keys are used for movement, Space for jumping and double jumping, Shift for sprinting, and Esc for pausing. The mobile version uses a virtual joystick combined with a Jump button, and also allows dragging the screen to rotate the camera.
