Riding On The Clouds In Rail In The Air

Most racing games reward recklessness. Floor the gas pedal, take corners on your knees, that's it. Rail in the Air completely reverses that rule. The game puts you in the role of a "silent hero," a locomotive driver, facing harsh physics: Centrifugal Force and Friction.

When hurtling through a spiral in the air, you need to feel the "joint" between the weight of the train car and the track surface. Pressing the W (accelerate) key uphill creates G-force for traction, but if you hold that finger downhill, you're guaranteed to see a literal "flying train" crash to the ground.

Beginner's Tip

Sometimes, a little fear and pressing the brake (S) in the middle of a freefall is the saving grace. Tapping the brake to create friction, not to kill speed, is an art.

The Nightmare Of Dynamic Terrain

Rail in the Air is a steel structure amidst the clouds, where you'll face:

• Broken track sections: If you don't have enough speed, you won't be able to "jump" to the next section. Too fast, and you'll overshoot and fall.
• Double spiral sections: Challenging your balance as your body is upside down in the air.
• Weather and Altitude Effects: The higher you go, the more visibility is affected by fog and clouds, requiring you to memorize the route rather than simply seeing it.

After each successful level, you unlock new "magnificent structures".
